About Jenna Velez
Jenna Velez is an emerging queer Latinx and reconnecting indigenous-descended poet and essayist from West Chester, Pennsylvania. Jenna's body of work seeks to shed light on the intersections of identity, trauma, spirituality, and relationships that have made her who she is and who she wants to be. Her poems explore themes of love, death, social justice, sexuality, magic, religion: the natural, the supernatural, and the mundane. The ugly and the beautiful. Jenna self-describes her work as a "confessional dumpster fire ignited by a Molotov cocktail of bodily fluids." Jenna Velez also attends Cabrini University as a Criminology and Sociology double major and Psychology minor. When she isn't writing, her passions lie in social justice, the arts, mental health awareness, and abuse victim advocacy.
